Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between editing and proofreading?

Editing includes proofreading plus observations on tone, content and structure. Proofreading focuses on language errors, ambiguity and awkward wording.

How is the price calculated?

The estimate uses your word count, document group, service and turnaround option. Optional services and volume discounts are shown in the breakdown. Prices exclude any applicable tax.

Can I request a free sample?

Documents over 5,000 words are eligible. An editor randomly selects up to 10% of the document. The specified turnaround is 72 hours from submission. Contact the team to confirm availability and transfer arrangements.

Which English variants are supported?

Tell us whether you prefer British, US, Canadian or Australasian English. Include any publisher or institution-specific requirements in your brief.

When does the turnaround start?

The delivery period starts after confirmed payment and acceptance of the complete brief. Days are calendar days. Discuss a firm deadline with the team before committing.

Can I upload or pay online now?

Online document submission and payments are coming soon. You can calculate an estimate and prepare an email enquiry now.

How do I share a large or confidential document?

Contact the team first so a suitable transfer method can be agreed. Do not paste confidential document text into an enquiry.

Can I request a bespoke NDA?

Mention your NDA requirements before sending your document. The team will need to discuss and agree the arrangements with you.

Can you help with academic work?

Editing supports your own writing. It does not supply research, arguments or assessed content. Check your institution’s rules before arranging editorial support.

Does editing guarantee publication or a particular grade?

No. Editorial work can improve language and presentation, but publishers, employers and institutions make their own decisions.
